Our Story

Where This Platform Came From

Mvision Cinemas began as a small project among a group of friends in Málaga who shared a habit of watching films together and then talking about them at considerable length. Those conversations — about directors, periods of cinema history, how particular films were made, what they meant in context — were the real beginning of the platform.

We noticed that while there were many places online to find film information, there were fewer places that tried to make that information feel genuinely interesting — that tried to connect the facts to something worth caring about. We wanted to build something that could function as a companion to watching films, not just a reference tool.

The quiz format seemed like a natural fit. Trivia, when it's well designed, does more than test memory — it prompts curiosity, opens up areas of film history you might not otherwise encounter, and gives you a reason to go back and watch something you might have overlooked.

Mvision Cinemas exists to make cinema knowledge more accessible and more meaningful. We believe that understanding the context, history, and craft of film deepens the experience of watching — and that this understanding should be available to everyone, not just to those with formal training in film studies.

Every quiz question and article is researched and reviewed by members of our team with genuine subject knowledge. We take care with the facts we present and with the framing we put around them.

World Cinema Focus

We make a deliberate effort to include films and filmmakers from beyond the English-language mainstream. Cinema is a global art form, and we try to reflect that in our content.

Accessible for All

We aim to produce content that is interesting to serious film enthusiasts and newcomers alike. The quizzes vary in difficulty; the articles are written to be readable without requiring prior expertise.

Early 2022

The Idea Takes Shape

After months of informal conversation about film and trivia among a group of Málaga-based film enthusiasts, the idea for a structured quiz platform first emerged.

Mid 2022

First Quizzes Written

The initial question bank was assembled from research and review sessions, with a focus on classic cinema, directors, and film history.

Early 2023

Platform Launch

Mvision Cinemas launched with three core quiz categories and a small library of editorial articles covering major periods in film history.

2023–2024

Content Expansion

New quiz categories were added, including world cinema, documentary, and technical filmmaking. The article archive grew to cover specific directors and movements in depth.

Mvision Cinemas is independently operated. Our content is not sponsored by film studios, distributors, or streaming platforms, and our editorial decisions are not influenced by commercial considerations. We do not accept payment for coverage or positive review.
